FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Here you’ll find answers to the most common questions about voting, results reveal, the podium, and how My Song Contest works.
What happens in case of a tie?
A tie occurs when two or more countries receive exactly the same number of points.
To help you understand and resolve the tie, My Song Contest highlights identical votes to make comparison easier.
The final decision is yours: you can manually adjust your votes before confirming them.
What does the podium mean?
The podium compares the official results (ranking/points) with the points you assigned.
It highlights your best predictions and the gaps versus the official outcome.
The podium is available only once the admin has entered the official results.
How is the podium calculated?
For each country, the app compares your points with the official points.
A “gap” is computed (difference between your points and the official points). The smaller the gap, the better your prediction.
The “Best predictions” section highlights the countries where you are closest to the official outcome.
What’s the difference between the reveal modes?
Classic reveal: each vote is announced point by point.
Quick reveal: each participant’s first 7 points are grouped, then 8 / 10 / 12 points before moving to the next participant.
Interactive reveal: each participant hosts the reveal of their own votes.
Full reveal: all points are displayed at once.
How are translations handled?
The app uses i18n keys: each text has a key with a translation per language.
Translations are drafted with help from ChatGPT and refined to sound natural.
Can I edit my votes after submitting them?
Yes, as long as the room is open: you can unlock your votes and edit them.
Once the room is closed, votes become read-only.
How does the scoring table work?
The points and comments in the scoring table are personal.
They are only meant to help you evaluate each country before assigning your final points.
Only the final points you submit are taken into account and shared with everyone during the results reveal.
How do I organize a Eurovision vote with friends?
Create a private room, add participants, then let everyone assign their points from their phone.
Once the votes are submitted, you can reveal the ranking live just like in a real contest.
How can I create a live Eurovision ranking?
My Song Contest automatically calculates the ranking from the points assigned by participants.
You can then launch a live reveal to display the points and final ranking step by step.
Can people vote from a phone?
Yes. Each participant can join the room and vote directly from their smartphone, with no installation required.
The interface is designed to be simple to use on mobile during a party or event.
Do I need an account to join a room?
Yes, an account is required to join a room and save your votes securely.
It also lets you find your votes again, edit them while the room is open, and avoid duplicates.
How many participants can join a room?
The number of participants depends on the plan used by the room organizer.
The free plan is designed for small groups, while Premium allows up to 15 participants.
